I have recenlty been snapper fishing offshore for the first time, i brought my bream raider along with 8 pound braid and got smashed!!! i ended up with no line and could fish no longer :-(
any tips for a relatively light boat AND barra rod, not too heavy though ( wanna still have fun) and with an eggbeater. cheers.

Not sure if you'll get a rod that will do both really well. How are you fishing for Snapper? I assume with soft plastics. When the rod will be used for Barra will you be throwing just Sp's or Hn's as well? Bit more info needed.

For me probably megabass silvershadow ssx-75ml or ssx-75m matched with a 3000 sized exist or branzino :-D would be off it's head but dunno your budget

I used a G Loomis MB844IMX blank as a light snapper rod. I use a Calcutta 400b on it but im sure it would be good as a spinning set-up. Dont know how it would go on barra but its rating is something like 12 - 20lb. Light as a feather and it is without doubt my favorite snapper rod ATM.
