Question Regarding Luvias
Specifically, the schematic that came with my Luvias 1003 shows about 5 washers and 2 felt ones. When I opened the spool up ie remove the Haxagonal clip then the "cup" shaped washer with gears for the clicker on the inside, there was only one felt washer thereafter. ie no metal washers at all.
I bought this reel secondhand and wonder if the washers have been removed? If anyone has a Luvias 1003 it would be greatly appreciated if you can check the number washers it has Does anyone know of a website where you can download schematics of reels in english? Thanks in advance

im probably wrong but dont the 1003 spools only have the 'cup' and 1 felt washer, like the 2004, 2506 etc.....
![]() and im sure you would notice if washers are missing as there would be a masive gap between the cup and retaining clip. Last edited by ben k; 29-08-2009 at 04:21 AM. |

To get a multi-disc drag stack, you'd have to get a different spool. Most Real4 2000 size will fit, so will the 1503 (I think it is a finesse setup though). The Fuego 1000A (US) will give a deep spool 1000 with a multi-disc stack. |

Hi mate, I've got an old Ryobi sitting around if you want to grab the washers off that. You can make them out of old take away containers too, but you have to cut them down to size first.

Thanks guys , just neeeded to know as I bought the reel second hand and the drag wasnt that smooth in the heat of battle. The felt washer did look a little compressed ie a ring of thicker felt on the outside. is it a simple fis just to replace the felt washer or any other suggestions.
Mozzz thanks for the offer but I think the Ryobi washers a a little too thick. Thanks Again.

Maybe a silly question but do Baitcasters and Spins share the same parts for drag. And as Ben K mentioned would ther be any room for another washer.

mmm dunno, never tried, but i dont think so....
and no, no room for extra washers, you would need 1 felt + 1 more S/S...
