Replacement for a Custom Plus BD FR

Hi Guys,
I have unfortunately destroyed my Black Diamond Custom Plus rod in a battle with a car door and need a replacement.
I guess I am looking for ideas as BD no longer do rods.
The Custom Plus was an awesome rod and the stubby rear grip is something that I love so I want something that is going to be similar.

I have played with the Ultra Finese Miller Rod and its nice but the grip is not for me.

Anyone have any real suggestions based on use?

I dont want to cause a Miller vs Loomis vs blah debate on this but I havent bought a rod for 4 years now so Im out of the loop as to what is around

That is ofcourse unless some one is selling a custom plus 7'2

Hey got a suggestion Bubba, if you don't want to cause a debate between the two, then just buy this (see below) ..... GUSA Pioneer Series 6'6" .... comes with a Daiwa Team Advantage 1500, both only used 4 times ..... priced just for you $540

hello bubba

I reckon you should get an ugly stik. I reckon they are tops for brim, 20lb pre test line stops em in thier tracks.

Come down to the river next weekend and have a play with the nitro's if you want. The grunter are calling.

Its only lost about 6 inches but it changes the whole feel of the rod. Not sure what you mean with Bear tho.

Ranger thanks for the offer but 6'6 is to short. I want at least 7'2. I have 4 6'6 Struddies already

Yatesy. Why didnt I think of that! Ugly stick would be awesome :P NOT! But I may pop down to see you next weekend. You got the boat ready? New car doesnt have a towbar yet so I cant bring mine... Nitro is a good option. I saw one that Sewely had a while back that was nice..

Hotrods, it was 1-3 or the 2-4.. 1-3 is what im looking for in a 7'2 or above

ah HU, in that case yes i probly can help you.

i can use the Subby grip format that i use on my STALKER range on the SwizzleStik 701ULMF blank. as its an UL blank and a mod fast taper the ultra short grip is compatible. its rated 1-2kg but i run up to 6lb through it without any issues at all.
lenght isnt an issue either. this blank is 7' but a 2 - 3 " extension to the butt to take it to 7'2 as you want, will be covered but the rear grip and seat.

drop me a PM or email if you think that might suit you and we can discuss it further.

Yep getting there mate. Come on down for a day or both days if you have nothing planned, we can always set you on someones boat for a fish. Details on our site.

The nitros are sweet rods- sewelly and I both really enjoy fishing the 6' model and I like the 6'6 too, both for vibes and plastics. The seven footer is at home on the pole throwin hard sheet.
