Larger than life blowies
Fishing on monday out on the bay my brother and law and I came across what we thought were small tuna chopping the surface getting airbourne smashing up bait. After losing a popper straight up to a clean cut 3/4 the way up my 10lb leader we thought tuna or something similar from the body shape and behaviour, got smashed by a pike and watched as a dozen or so of these fish came in close following the hooked pike I slowed the retrieve and was thinking TAKE IT! but they slowed had a look and cruised by. Next cast bang,I said I'm on waiting for the reel to start screaming but only to recieve the pressure of a wet towl applied to my rod. Reeled in the fish much to our disappointment to find a 40-50cm toad/blowie like fish
powerful beak, pale green, small black spots and a silver stripe down the side,a bit pimp my blowie. Any suggestions as to what these fish are?unfotunately no photo's were taken. Never seen a blowie or toad like this before,it was insane to watch them feed on surface getting air and smashing bait fish at top speed .

In WA we call them Norwest Blowies. Don't let them near your fingers or toes or they will bite them off!!!!
