just crappie fishing!

while on youtube last night i came across clips of crappie fishing, now i didnt know much about yank fishin for crappie but after watching thoses clip i now realize that it is the most crap form of fishing i have even seen. one clip showed a guy with 6 rods (apparently you're allowed to keep like 70 crappie or something) he hooked up and just started dragging the fish in, he said to not let them fight just "skii them across the top" (he lost the first fish lol).. it just seemed so anticlimax fishing yet the guy was full into it.. found another clip of 2 pro lookin guys in a bass/bream style boat, they were looking for crappie using the fish finder and even dropping down a fish shaped underwater camera down to see if it was crappie. they had some nice looking light gear too.. after hook up, same deal, just kinda winched the fish into the boat.. all that effort for no fight, just did'nt seem fun.. why do they bother? looked so boring and just seemed like the crappiest form of fishing to me.

It is pretty rare to see any clips on youtube of anglers outside of Australia who actually use their rod and reel correctly. Majority of anglers just high stick and wind like crazy. You don't see much lift and wind or playing the fish in.

The style of crappie fishing you saw SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!! calledspider rigging (flat line trolling)....I fish for crappie all the time as well as other specis that we call panfish....I use gear exactly like your bream gear and cast small sp's on usually 1/32 or 1/16oz jigs and slow roll or lift and drop retrieve......I will find a vid of my style of fishing and post a link.....I do the ice fishing thing too.....Its hard not to....other wise no fishing for 4 months when everything is frozen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1_BTkfmqTk... Still looking for a strict cast and retrieve video....Will post another link later

lots of ppl won't agree, but LIFT AND WIND COST YA FISH!
when fishing light light gear and super light drag, lift and wind will cost a lot of fish. esp the fish that jump and do head shakes. period
