Luvias 1003 or 2000???
G'day all,
Im just wondering what size luvias to get, 1003 or 2000. Its main use will be for bream however i would occasionally like to use it for pinkys. I will be spooling it with 4lb fins. Any help will be appreciated. Cheers Dylan. |

IMO the 2000
I hate those small diameter spools on 1000 size reels Can't cast as far and more wind knots |

I've got 3 x 2000, 1 x 2500 and 1 x 3000 and they all go well and I'm pretty hard on my fish'n gear, the weight diff isn't much, and the smaller spool is a pain in the bum imo, go the 2000.
Good Luck Drew

all depnds on the rod too mate...the 100X models are damn light and if the reel seat isnt in the right spot the rod will be tip heavy..this is where a 2000 woudl normally suit better...
so what rod are you putting it on ??? and in fav of the 100X models, i have 2 and LOVE em to bits !

I agree, I dont understand why people make such a fuss about 1000 size reels. The only advantage I can see is the slower retrieve rate. A 2000 or 2500 will have bigger diameter spool and line capacity, bigger gears (more torque/ cranking power) and the weight difference is marginal.

i wntd the 1000 to put on my 7'' bayliner i teamed it up wih one an the balance wasnt right the 2000 was spot on, remeberin the bayliner only weighs 101g so anything heavier will exagerate the inbalance, plus average retrieve rate too... JMO

2004 is a shallow spool version of the 2000 size,
better for using pe as you dont have to mess around with backing much, just a few wraps so it doesnt slip |

Ok, thanks mate.
Sounds like the 2004 mite be the go then, because i will need a heap of backing on the 2000 when using 150yd of 4lb. Does any one know the capacity of the 2004 because its not on the the daiwa site. |

i dont think they make a luvias 2004 i tried to get on, best bet buy a 2000 load it with a heavier braid and then buy a RCS 2004 spool and put 4lb on it...
cheers
