Custom parts for a TD Advantage.
Do any of you daiwa fans know if a different knob can be put on the TD Advantage reels?
Cheers

Erik, you can email Mr Ogawa at PLAT for any info about custom parts for all Daiwa reels.

Good timing on this question. I just put a knob I picked up in HK on my TDA 4000. I only use the reel for casting big slugs and poppers at Tailor and the normal T style knob was terrible for this.
![]() ![]() Might not be the prettiest thing you've seen but it will improve high speed cranking control. The good thing about changing the handle knob is that the standard TDA has no bearing but rather a plastic bushing. When you purchase an aftermarket knob they should come with a proper BB you can install to increase smoothness. I had a spare BB from the knob for the 4000 and it swapped out with the bushing on my 2000 perfectly. Also the good thing about real 4 reels are the parts are all interchangeable and easily sourced. Check the net for what's out there or just visit a good tackle store locally. Last edited by Surface Breamer; 18-05-2009 at 09:22 PM. |
