carbon build up

G'day Fatboy.
I'm asuming you are on about a two stroke outboard here???
carbon build up can be caused by several things depending on the colour of plug if its black & wet could be spark plug needs changing, too much trolling or slow speed particually older carburator models, to a lesser degree timing misalignment, coils could be failing, leads could be worn out. old fuel particually mixed fuel as a rule should be used up with in six weeks. could be a combination of these problems. best to see your mechanic to give it the once over, better safe than sorry.
