Slambait?

Hi, was wondering if anyone has tried them? And if you know anywhere sells them in Victoria? any feedback?

Hi Brian, Slambaits ain't anything to wright home about, there just like gulp. I don't think they have a very good action, they are very stiff. and the colours suck. but that's just my opinion. anyone else used them?

I've used slambaits and have never really had any success on them i dont even use them anymore there are way more better products on the market

Yeah... I saw them on the promo DVD and they seems better than gulp? I've tried squidgy pro range with pretty good success, but wouldn't mind to try the slambait too?

they caught a fair few bream on the DVD so I'll be giving them a try

They seem pretty thick in the tail and i doubted the action but a mate has pulled schoolies on them.

They seem to have replicated the Gulp formula. However the colours aren't as good and they're far stiffer. I'd rather buy a Gulp. If the guys in the DVD use them enough, they'll catch fish. However so will every other lure.

That's so true, when the fish are biting, any lure will work. I don't think they sell it here in Victoria so I have no idea about the lure in term of stiffness, but I think the larger models should be good for bigger species such as snapper and mulloway.

Slam baits are OK for offshore chasing reefs, and snapper, where the sent makes them like bait. but as said they don't have much action in the water, so there not very good for bream, Flathead and the like. plus the range of colour sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

But if you want to go bait fishing its your choice

I find this very interesting. How many times have you used them, and how long have you been using them for?
The reason I ask this question is they have only just come onto the market, which means you either havent been using them or you have been using prototypes which are never as good as the real thing..
Maybe you should check your facts before posting..

As for the colours / Action , they always seem stiffer when in a pack. When you take it out it is amazing the difference it makes. The action is in the last third of the tail which when twitched gives a tight vibrating action, it also adds to the darting effect ( Highly recognizable in wounded baitfish) .

Hi Simon, That's a good idea!!!
I've used both the prototypes and the first plastic to hit, and I stand by what I said. their good for what they are, (like gulp) But there is heaps of beter stuff out there!!!
