Question Land based (from rocky shore) tips

Hi.

I have some land based, and rocky (oyster covered) shoreline in the estuary near me (Cowan Creek in Sydney).

Is there any particular rigs that will work better in this situation (hardbodies vs SPs) - or the way to actually 'work' the shoreline?

If the area is pretty rocky, you can get snagged up alot using soft plastics on jigs. Hardbodied lures are alot more user friendly over rocks. Just pause to let you lure float over the obstruction once you feel the lure hit something.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'work' the shoreline. I guess cast as close to any structure you find, work the lure slowly and keep moving.

if you like using your softies, try using a weedles or worm hook setup with your SP.

This will reduce your snags effectively.

Bear,
I got some of those worm hooks. Haven't got round to using them yet though. Is the hook up rate OK compared to jigs? I'll give them ago next time I fish in shallow rocky water that isn't too dirty. I always seem to get bigger fish on hardbodies when it's dirty.
