braid vs fluorocarbon?
would it be easier if i was to run straight 4lb fluorocarbon the whole way through the spool or, put 4lb braid and tie a leader onto that?

Depends. fluro has some stretch in it. I think alot of people are using it for HB's. I like the low stretch of braid with fluro leader.
But nothing stopping you giving it a go and seeing how you like it.

are you are doing it so you dont have to tie as many knots ?
Is it for hardodys or plastics ? I dont mind fluro for plastics but i wouldent use it for HB's but thats just my opinion I found you have to keep an eye on you spool a bit more or you will end up with a big mess

yeah i was thinking about saving on knots. thats all. i'd be using it on sp's and hb's. also with baits as well. it'd be on my luvias 2500.

i have just started using 4lb fluorocarbon all the way throguh, and i am absolutely loving it, i only use it on the flats as when using it around structure roughs up the line a fair bit. i have had flathead swallow the plastic and i have still managed to land them with ease, including lifting them up mud flats and small cliffs. it is still sensitive but not as good as braid imo.

FC straight through is brilliant for fishing HBs where the hookups are not always very solid. the stretch absorbs sharp movements really well. I'd probably only use it for HBs where you dont need to twitch the lure and takes are usually much stronger. Unitika Night game for me - softer than the Yamatoyo Spinning Flouro and it's a leader line!!

I use 2lb Sunline fluro straight through for 99% of my Plastics fishing in Albany (lots of rock/sand drop off not mutch to bust you up on) now days i prefer the lil bit of streach when it comes to letting the fish take the placcy. Just use a soft rod and light drag i have landed some nice fish ( plenty over 40) useing this and have no worrys with it
