Blank colour - your opinion

Hey Guys
im thinking bout building up another rod and was after some opinions on a blank colour. I have the possibility of getin a white blank so i was wondering if you would stick to the standard greyish type of a blank or would you go for something different and get a white blank if you were gona build a rod?
cheers

I thought only blind people use white sticks?

For me I'd never have a white rod, but if thats what you want then go for it!

Personally, the colour of the blank is the last thing I would be concerned with. The most important part about a blank, is the blank itself.

1. Length
2. Line Weight
3. Construct of the blank
4. Obivously what are the target fish species
5. Guides
6. Binding
7. Reel seat

and a few more things.......... then last of all........... blank colour.

Thanks kamikazeghost but i've already got everything you've mentioned sorted out....... and have the opportunity of gettin the blank i have in mind in white as they have some in stock. So i was just wondering if people would go a white blank if they were in my situation or not.

Blank colour does NOT come last: you can't choose blank colour once the rod is built.

It's only really important when you are considering what bindings to go with, and both would be chosen together. Depending on the effect you want, different blank colours combined with different binding colours, and also with or with colour preserver, look different, even with the same thread. There's also NCP thread vs regular nylon, and the range of other materials (poly, silk). Then metallics! You sure you got bindings sorted?

A white blank will give the maximum contrast to any colour and make it "pop", but for me...... NAAAAAH!!!

Matte finishes: deep blue, black, grey.
Gloss finishes: black, grey, green, deep blue.
A lot of my rods have the original finish taken right back to the matte graphite grey. This, and matte black, look good with any colour combinations.
