people really need more to worry about in their lives if they can be bothered ringing in a complaint about this .........

man mabye i should have rung thorugh a few hundered complaints about that bl**dy ugly betty ad that seamed to run for ever!

youve got to be kidding me . i thought that add was funny.
for parents to think that this add would bring on copycat behavior
must mean they leave their keys in reach of kids . though im yet to see a two year old throw a car into drive and floor it . after reading their reasons im surprised they let the camel drive the rav4 , you know ... just in case other camels tried to copy the add

It may seem rediculous to ban such an add but it comes down to the advertising voluntary code of practice as mentioned in the article. You cannot advertise anything that is illegal in the state or territory in which it will be shown. As you probably aware a child is not permitted to operate a vehicle on a public road.

They have been also trying to tone down car adverts that condone speeding in recent years. You may notice a disclaimer on some such as "filmed under controlled conditions" ie on a race track etc

that was 1 of the best ad's ive ever seen some people are just unbeleaveable

Must say i loved the ad, was in tears every time it came on, being a young driving legend myself as a 4 yr old {some 32 yrs ago} reversed the old HR down the driveway through the gates that so many people of legal age had hit, across the road and into the fence {yep bricks and mortor dont move to much } a saturdays work had the fence fixed, and ive been reminded of that day until i got my licence, not much damage to the HR, worked out all good, until 3 months later when i tryedd to back out of the uncles driveway, well this time it was a power pole, yep 1 dead HR after that one{ok maybe we, me and brother rolled for about 60 mts and put the bumper where the backseat was }
All good the old man then lashed out and got himself a Valiant, wasn't allowed to drive that one , but when i got my licence what do ya think i got, yep lots of headaches from Mr Plod,had fun but.
Still in all my younger driving days i never picked up any hot chicks on the way
Some people need to get a life if they think kids are going to get in a car after seeing an ad like that{hell i didn't need any ad to show me what to do }and pick up a hottie on the way to the beach, just taking the humour out of advertising.
