Shimano Spheros 12000/14000 ~$230...they have an excellent reputation and you can Upgrade the handle, bearings and Drag Washers for around $150. That'll turn it into an even more terrific jigging reel than it is already.

G’day Yeungy
The Okuma VS80 is supposed to be quite reasonable. I am not sure, but you could probably also get away with a big Penn Spinfisher. I’d recommend the Shimano Spheros 14000 for the job!
Cheers & good luck!

When you say not too heavy I take it you want to fish up to 50lb but a medium size reel. The Spheros is a top choice there but it is a large reel. Maybe look at the Daiwa Capricorn 4500J, Okuma V-System65, Abu Cardinal 800 saltwater series. Most of these reels are around the $300 price range. There's not alot of medium size reels that can handle heavy braid. Even a Saltiga Blast 4500 can handle 50lb....long term. I've relegated mine to 30lb.

A nice reel to look at is the Twinpower 6000FB or Sustain 8000FD these are closer to $400.

Otherwise you get what you pay for.

I would forget the Big Baitrunner for jigging as its extra long shaft cannot tolerate the heavy drags.

As for braid....most will work, I'd ignore the fireline as they dont break at what its rated and 50lb is generally thicker than most other braid. Coloured stuff are no different. The colours are depth indicator. I got it on all my jigging outfits so I can effective jig just the strike zone instead of fishing the entire water column.
