gday Jay i myself purchased a BD CC 2-4 and more than happy with the rod and the service provided . Ive married the rod with a Daiwa Capricorn 1500 . The cappy ive had for about 2yrs and are yet to experience any probs with it .I fish probably , on average , about every two weeks, so the odds are in the cappies favour .So for your $$$$ value this is a good start. Ive seen some of the higher end reels squelling after a couple off weeks , but it all come down to care and maintenance .
Cheers Nick

I know it's a little dearer, but I own a BD ClearCut 2-4 kg and married it up with a Daiwa SOL 2000.

Great combo.

I use either a cappy, sol or luvias on my 204 CC

All will do the job nicely
