redfin
seeing the recent post in the wafm I 'm now inspired to catch myself some redfin and i was just wondering weres the closest place to perth were i can fish for them I don't need a license because i am not 16 yet and it's only goin to me and my brother fishing for them. is it good fishing from the shore or should i take my yak down or my tinny and just use oars. I really want to catch some fish on softies cos i can't catch any bream on them so what are more successful and what lure should i use.
cheers leebo |

Not sure if these are the closest to Perth - but the lads & I managed a few outta Lake Navarino (Logues Brook Dam?) a couple months back on the pink squidgies (and fly).
We just drove across the wall & round the south side to the 2nd creek inlet area and fished the shallows there. They seemed to be in the dead / flooded tree saplings mostly, and every few casts within cooee of dead timber seemed to get a floow / bite. Nuthing real big (we were just afer a few small ones for our garden ponds anyway!). I'd imagine with a canoe / yak or whatever you could cover a lot more water more easily than we did on foot. Kookaburra up there knocked off one of my fish midair! (Cheeky bugga - looked like he was a regaular fish snatcher to me!). Best a luck with em - the biggest I ever saw was in the Warren river at Pemberton but it was 10 years ago too! Cheers! |

Grave Yard Nath?
I can safely advise that tales of my untimely demise were greatly over exaggerated! Just got very busy with the crapola that life sometimes throws at you, after my old dad died and I ran his business for 12 months - settle his deceased estate etc etc....didn't leave much time for fishing and fun! Finally got round to making a few life changes now tho, & bought a little bigger bream boat, and moved to Mandurah..etc.. Other than that - not much has changed!! Cheers! |

Tis good to be back Nath!
I heard a rumor that Bears 'mooderating' (deliberate pun) fingers were getting arthritic from lack of use, so figured it was high time I came back so he could get a onkaparinga (finger) workout! So far I've only managed a locked thread - but am working my way back up to a complete thread deletion - just gimme time and some subject thats controversial enough! ![]() Who knows - could be just like old times.... (Loud haler outside...yells "OK trouty - step away from the keyboard and come out with both hands in the air where we can see them!") Hmm - men with butterfly nets, straight jacket, doctor with white overcoat and stethescope round neck - bearing large needle.. Doesn't look good.... Take the pills trouty, just swallow em down...now theres a good fellow - doesn't that feel better? Sigh! Cheers! |

LoL well I can’t think of anything controversial at the moment and I’m tired. Its time for bed
I suppose its time you started reading every post you missed out on for the past year and a half or how ever long it’s been. That should keep you busy for a while. ![]() Then after that a can of WD-40 should loosen up your typing fingers. Unless you’re like my mother then it would be ''typing finger'' Anyways OOOROOO cheers, Nathan
