Stradic 1000FH
Just brought myself a Stradic 1000FH, they are a sweet looking reel, very very smooth i must admit i cant wait to give it a whirl. I loaded it with 4lb FINS braid and have partnered it with my 6ft 10" dropshot. Looks like it will be a very nice SP's setup.
How do you other stradic owners find the reel in performance. I now have a Caldia kix and a Stradic now its time to see what my future puchases will be. Daiwa v Shimano the old debate. Who will last longer!!!

I have one, but after the Stradic I find it hard to get another one. I know the price difference, but I'm surprised at the difference in performance. Just bought a 2500 and love it. Really like the weight.

Ive still got the Affinity mate, though i was bush bashing along the Blackwood last wkend trout fishing and slipped on the muddy bank, all my weight landed on the reel. I think i have bent the main shaft a bit as the reel feels a bit wonky and grindy now. Wondering wether or not its worth getting fixed?? dont wanna spend more than the reels worth thats all. It still works buts it not as good now.

Squidgee Man, I have this suspicion that the Daiwa lays line a lot better than shimanos. When you get good amount of use out of both of them I would like to hear on the laying of the line. Why I'm saying this is because I've been using the Certate now for 5-6 weeks on short and long casts, hooked up decent fish which made the drag scream a little. I've also started using a Biomaster which is a nice reel in its own right for the price but after a few sessions with the Biomaster, I occassionally get the fireline in little tangles or balls of tangles, something I never got with the Certate. I'm thinking its caused by line twists which mean the Certate lays line without twists much better than the Biomaster does. But to make a conclusion on usage of one reel from each maker for a few sessions is hardly conclusive so I'm hoping others will provide more such accounts.

Ill be sure to post my findings on performance in a few weeks or so for debate.

Iv'e got the stradic 1000 really nice reel. It's lost a bit of soothness but other than that it still works great even after i droppd it in the water.

Took the reel out for out test run today very happy with it, i would have liked to christen it with a bream but the blowies had other ideas. I find it casts very well and the drag seems quite smooth, need a big bream to really see how she performs.
