I had Cardiff 200. I used it for Native fishing. The weights would have to be around 4 or 5 grams upwards to get a good casting out of it.

Shimano Cardiff 100

Hi,

I have a Shimano Cardiff 100, it is a great reel and i use it for anything from small fish to hard fishting tailors. I have taken all of the VBS weights out of it, this obviously increases the casting distance, but as proved a week a go on a fishing trip down at marlo, you often get more birdsnest. I think that 300 is a bit big for bream, but it should be okay.

Cheers,

DaiwaFreak

Hey,
the cardiff 300 is maybe a bit large for your bream fishing. although i guess you could use it for trolling or heavy baitfishing. i'd probably use the cardiff more for anything like tailor or salmon in the estuaries. It would serve well as a light rock/surf outfit when matches to a small surf rod and some braid for throwing around 20gram metals.
