I agree Gav but saying they are expecting it on a silver platter might be a bit harsh for newbies in general mate.

When i was beggining and i spose i still am new to it considering people have been doing it over 5 years but i didnt have a clue and i asked heaps of questions and sometimes just basic info on simple things that makes sence to us, might not seem apparent to a begginer.
Obviousely your not gonna tell people your go to snag ect but maybe just small things that can help rather then giving up all your secrets.
Also agree that a good search of the forums will help you find alot of good info but sometimes its hard to sort through the irrelavent stuff from the begginers tips.
Obviousely im not having a go at you Gav, im just remembering the days when i was a begginer and i really apreciated all the people that gave me advice no matter how big or small.

Sorry if i hijacked another thread

Keep being pationt Leebo, once you work out the patterns ect you wont have to stress so hard to score a few fish and its all worth it.

hmmm

time on the water........get to know a area, what lures work better than others, what time's fish better ie. height of the tide, if the area produces better when the tide is over a certain level like 0.94 or somfin
whether that area fishes better at mourning afternoon or evening

and of course time on site everything i have said i have picked off of threads research

I agree with what has been put forward here. I'm still new and although no spring chicken to fishing in general, bream on lures is new to me.
Listen research and read, get out and look at where you are fishing don't expect to just throw in the lure and catch anywhere. fish congregate at different places at different times of the day, week, month, year, and season.
like anything in life you get out what you put into things. read lots get to the comps weigh-ins and listen to the competitors where they fished what worked what didn't.
good luck

I think it's great what you guys are prepared to aprt with in respect to your vast knowldge on the sport. I for one am truly grateful.

I think 'patience' is the real trick here. I reckon if you don;t have patience you just won't take to fishing as a lifetime hobby. Can't say I'm that patient but the fishing gets me out-and-about.

Also, as it's Father's day, I'd say that fishing is a great way to bond with your father/son.

OK .. OK ... slightyl hijacked there ... bottom line?

You can't teach patience ... it has to be earned.
