Price of Okuma Epix 's
I've looked at the epix before and it looks pretty flash.
But what I want to know is why it only costs around $140 and it has 10 ball bearing Cause if you look at the price of other reels with 10bb they cost $500 plus Has anyone had any trouble with them or are they just good quality reels for a great price breamobasser |

The simple answer is - a great reel at a great price
Have a play with one before you make a decision - you will be impressed Having said that, with most modern reels the X number of ball bearing bit is a bit misleading - they usually put 2 of them in the handle And.... it's no good having a million bearings if the drag isn't up to scratch, and it is unbelievably difficult to try and fix a dodgy drag. My Epix doesn't have that problem - the drag is very, very sweeeet Cheers,

Often the body on the cheaper reels is made of composite such as graphite reinforced plastic. The more expensive jobbies have metal bodies and are stated to hold their components in perfect alignment even under hard stresses of fighting a fish or whatever.
Daiwa sometimes have more ball bearings in the mid range reels than in the top models. Compare a current series Capricorn with a Laguna for example.

The Okuma reels are great value for money like Dave said. I own 4 of them altogether I have 2 EP 20's & a couple 30's with baitrunner feature that I use for other types of fishing & I am very happy with them all. The drag is smooth as silk.
