Depends on what you are wanting to achieve?
If you want first person I'd recommend the head harness. If you would like third person, chuck a few mounts around the boat/yak so you can achieve different angles depending on what you want to film. I've also got a GoPole so that I can film on the go, makes the camera much more stable and gives you the ability to gain many more angles with little effort. Cheers |

the chest mount is also a good one to. I've got both and get really good shots from both. GoPros range from $290 all the way upto about $450 - $500. Just depending on what model you want to go. For just filming fishing the Silver or White Edition would be perfect there would be no need to get the Black Edition due to the fact I cant see you needing to shoot 4k. You can shop around online and find a white or silver for cheap but for a guideline here's a link to JBHIFI http://www.jbhifi.com.au/photo/video-camera/gopro/ You can also pick up the head mount or chest mount for around $30 - $40 and theres a whole heap of other cool goodies. |

197’/ 60m Waterproof Housing* Rechargeable Li-ion Battery QR Buckle 1 Curved Adhesive Mount 1 Flat Adhesive Mount Assorted Mounts and Hardware USB Charging Cable Unfortunately you don't get the head mount and chest mount but they are only $30 - $40 well worth it I say. When you go to get a one there should be rack with all sort of mounts and parts on it. Also make sure when you get it to watch a setup video saying what settings to have it on because some of them come set on NTSC which is an American format in Australia you want PAL, 25fps and 16:9 aspect ratio which would be 1080p. There are a few videos on youtube which should be a help. |

Sorry to drag up an old post but thought it better than a whole new thread.
Which attachment are people using / is better suited for attaching their camera's to their boats, the handlebar / seat post mount or the roll bar mount??

I run a roll bar mount attached to the top of the console, and sticky attachment on the gunnel at the rear left of the boat and homemade pole which sits into the rod holders at the back for a higher perspective shot. Ive also used the suction cup mount and its pretty good, especially if you want to keep moving it around your rig. Best bet though is to buy a few different attachments and see which one you prefer! |
