How to Zoom in on a PC

How long has this been going on - Am I the only bloke in the world who didnt know how to do this until today.

My computer is set up with a tool bar at the top and in that tool bar there's an icon shaped like a magnifying glass. I just hit that to magnify or to reduce the size of anything. Been doing it for 10 years or so.

In the past - if I wanted to zoom into a photo, I used to screen shot it - then paste it to my image altering program and Zoom in on that - this way is alot less time consuming

My computer lets me go to 300% bigger which has been adequate so far

Yeah my Computer doesnt have the Magnifying glass so other arrangements had to be made - what tool bar are you guys using?
