Yeah I remember a day out on the bay where we had been smashing pinks all arvo - I reapplied aeroguard sun cream and got back into it and went 6 casts with out a touch while my mate continued to whack them.

So I cut off my plastic - washed my hands thoroughly - put on a new one and I was back in the game. After that I started thinking more about scents

After that I used to to grab a handful of river mud and scrub my hands before a HB session. Or if I couldnt get to the water I'd use grass and dirt to scurb off any residues. It might not have helped but it made me feel better

Honestly I rarely use scents, if at all, but have some S-Factor tubes just in case. When do you guys most often use scents?

For me its started off with - I'll use them when it gets tough - then I was like - if Im already using them - why wait till it gets tough

I know they are irritating to use and your hands get slimy but now I pre-scent my lures and reapply in the field if I remember

I wish I had a buch of those "crabbys" the Shark Bay baldies couldn't resist..

The only time I baulk is in tournies, I think it is a very grey line between scent & bait

Yeah its 100% cheating - but if cheating's legal, is it really cheating?

I'm more Cuervo than Comtes but when it comes to Baldies - I'll go top shelf

The final word on scents,They add Smell and Taste !! SAX Scent is My poison. Crab , Bloodworm, and Prawn for salt, Wassabi for Fresh. Wassabi is aniseed, The others DO contain Crab, Prawn and Bloodworm. Aussie Made in Port Macquarie. I have 3 flavours in the back of the boat, My wife has 2 up front, We won't put a lure in the water without it on. We want to give ourselves the best chance possible to catch fish!!!!!!!! Howard.

If scents are legal in comps? Then what about a home made brew?

Surely its considered turning a lure into bait?
