DFO Canberra. They were run out as last seasons colours. There used to be a lot of Keen stuff about for cheap a couple of years ago. It may pay to look locally.

I wore a pair of simms flats sneakers for a week at Kiritimati recently and they were excellent. I crunched my way through acres of stag horn coral and soft sand and didnt have to empty them once.
If you want a cheaper option buy a set of $25 Kmart hikers then fork out another 25 for a pair of simms neoprene gaurd socks. |

I'm thinking maybe even some cheap hiking shoes from rivers might do the trick. I'll look into those neoprene socks, they sound interesting.

I don't do any wading, however have quite a few different pairs of hiking shoes/boots. Keep in mind any water proof shoe/boot (based on goretex, keen dry event etc) will become water logged after prolonged exposure to water.
Most hiking brands have a water based shoe available. Just a few as food for thought. http://www.merrell.com/UK/en-GB/Mobi...1?galleryKey=0 http://www.salomon.com/au/product/techamphibian-3.html http://www.teva.com/men-shoes/kimtah...d=men-view-all http://www.columbia.com/mens-drainma...oe-BM2552.html |

Teva shoes - brilliant in the water
Hi Guys. I discovered these brilliant shoes from Teva a few years ago - Teva Churns - they have stuff called "spider rubber" on the soles which give excellent grip in the water or slippery rocks, are fully enclosed slip on's, and have self draining holes in the soles for use in the water. Grip is fantastic - have used them in rivers in NZ, on rivers around Eucumbene, on the snowy rivers, and lots of other slippery areas while wading and fishing in rocky bottom waters. And they are good enough for general hiking, and fit over breathable waders with soft footing. Your can often get them discounted for about $100 at camping gear outlets. Like you, I spend heaps of time looking for the perfect shoe, and eventually I think I found it!! Hope this helps.
