where do the tandans goe in winter??

Hello All

I've been fishing for tandans (freshwater catfish) in SEQ freshwater streams over the past couple summers and had very good success on them lures and bait.

But I am only able to catch them from late October till late April/early May and was wondering where do these beautiful native fish go in winter? never see any nests and fish swimming in the clear winter pools or around the timber, very confusing as summer there in every pool and rapid and timber snag.

they just slow down in the colder weather, summer is there main breeding time hence you see them around their spawning patches.
used to keep them in fish tanks, they will happily sit in the same spot and not move for days on end when it gets cold
