I deal with broken goods a lot at work and have sent many rods with only one ring coming out of a guide while I was packing it.
At my work place the person who packed the parcel is nearly always responsible in our eyes. Couriers and post can and do throw parcels sometimes and you need to expect this sort of thing when shipping. I know it doesnt seem fair but its better to be safe than sorry. In this case the is substantial damage that looks like it has been crushed by something, that isnt expected as no parcel will sustain mechanical damage. Metal VS Cardboard is no match. How was it packed? thick cardboard tube or big conduit tube? any other way is a no go. I wrap mine in enought bubble wrap over the full length of the rod to fill the tube and act like suspension, I also pack both ends so there is no movement in the tube, the extra care is worth it. Only a severe crushing will break them if done like this. Loomis Expiditor isnt so great anymore, they better start putting some decent guides on their rods if they want to charge half the rod price for it Cheers Chris |
