EGI braid everyones using

Hi Guys, curious to hear what braid everyone is using for eging?

I am currently using Sunline CastAway PE 0.6 (10lb) on one outfit & Daiwa Tournament 8 Hyper PE Accudepth 30lb (equivalent to PE 1.0) on my heavier outfit.

I am yet to find out what the main difference is between an Egi braid and the rest of PE.

I am using Unitika Aorika II for all my fishing including bream and squid. Any PE braid would do the job. What you use is fine. Not sure if it answers your question.

I'm pretty sure a "traditional" eging braid suspends in the water column-

Quite a possibility, thanks.

definitely relates to it's buoyancy properties. My understanding was that egi lines traditionally sink, but not 100% sure on it, and suspending lines does make more sense.

I use Varivas max power 10 x 10, but forget specifically which one. It's awesome stuff

I was looking at the Varivas Avani Seabass Maxpower, also considering the Avani Eging Max Power, how do you find its casting performance?

Avani eging max power is really good line. It takes a little bit to wear it in as it can be quite stiff at the start, but after a few sessions it casts like a dream.

I have had very good experiences with all Varivas lines so far

Egi braids are just a gimmic imo just tackle companies telling people they need different line for different species to sell more stock.

Plus one for this line, over 4 years still going strong.

Just out of curiosity mate, as I am looking to try a few other brands I am yet to test out, yes most braids will work just as well, you can find "suspending braids" also e.g. Varivas Avani Eging Suspsend but from my knowledge I find EGI specific braids to be thinner in diameter & rounder, but with higher breaking strains... I've found them to cast better on smaller size spools too... in saying that I've noticed the differences to be minimal compared to other normal high quality braids... e.g. Sunline Cast Away.
