Stay well clear of daiwa J Braid and Sunline Siglon PE. Super PE or castaway is probably still your best bet.

My Sunline Super PE is just starting to fray - everything is fine upstream of the working end of the line... Just starting to let go and its only been out maybe 10 odd times. Crap because i have to keep cutting a bit off.
As i split full new spools in half - 75m starts to shorten quick on a reel spool quiet quickly. What i did buy is Spyderwire Durasilk and a tonne of it... 14 (varying weights) spools of it and so far havent been a problem - the outer coating has come away which is normal on some braids and so far its been working great with no signs of fraying "yet". Bit painful because all we get here in Aus is yellow and it picks up water discoloration and surface scum easily. America gets grey, green and red from memory.

I've been using Duel Hardcore for about 3 years now and reckon its as good as anything going. Excellent value too.

+1 for sunline castaway at that price point.
I used it quite a bit for the same applications as you mentioned and never had an issue. It’s thin and it’s profile allows it to bed down well under tension on both spin and bc gear. This applies to all strengths. I used from single digits up to 30-50lb. Ties well to leader (good leader-supple) that is. Ties especially well when you take the time and invest a dedicated effort to your knots. I would commonly use an FG and this braid was fine with that. I always had to be careful as I found this braid would cut into my hand more easily than others when tightening knots. As for abrasion resistance, next topic lol it’s braid. Colour seems to hold alright, but does obviously fade over time, which I honestly don’t care too much about. You won’t be disappointed. Def agree with j braid, I’d rather tie all my pubes together and use that

If you don't mind ordering from overseas Daiwa UVF Saltiga Sensor 8 Braid + Si is awesome. Have pe1 on a 2510 now and have pe3 on the way for a 3500.
