Just ordered the Tatula 76xh
We’ll see how it goes with a Luna 300 onboard 15-24kg for 8-12” baits

The tatula seems to be the only swimbait rod that Daiwa Aus have on their site?

They did have a sol version, but it has disappeared from the site

A video showing the sol rods was also posted in daiwa a fb page on Wednesday at 17:01 of this week

Yeah, Ok. I think the Tatula is the right choice between the 2 anyway, simply for the SVF blank. And it looks more pretty.

Just got my hands on the 76H rod
Pretty decent Happy with my choice. The telescope butt design is kinda cool, seems pretty robust and locks off very tightly

I'd be interested to hear how it casts, man. Never handled a swimbait rod before so I'm wondering how they handle such heavy baits in comparison to popping/stickbait rods which are rated to lower cast weights.

Is there anywhere that gives an actual weight for the daiwa rods rather than a length of the bait?

Managed to get in to my local compleat angler during lunch to pick up my new tatula swim bait rod
Bolted a Luna 300 to it and man, does it feel sweet. Balances really well with such a chunk of a reel sitting on it, but that’s because the rod itself is a deadset broom stick. Capable of flinging out swim baits up to and including 300g, it’s not wonder it balances well with the Luna. Collapsible butt is also handy to bring it down a bit from 7’6†Components seem very decent for a $250 rod, but then again, i don’t think it’s a domestic production model All in all, very happy. Looking forward to sending some baits out and wishing cod ate house bricks, coz I’m sure I could cast them with this beast and they’re a lot cheaper Nagz

That's interesting, because my PE#6 demon blood definitely won't handle 300g, even if I'm gentle... I just wonder what the difference between these rods construction is that makes one capable of such a cast weight and one not?

Not a clue mate
I’ll tell you one thing, the day I cast a 300g bait will be the most careful cast I’ve ever done The new daiwa swimbaits are pretty damn big though, probably high 200 grams by the look of them, so they must be able to be managed
