Garmin Striker 7SV Sounder

Is anyone running one of these sounders?

I'm looking for a bit of first hand opinion on them, pro and cons etc.

No, but I will be watching this thread with interest.
Entry level unit is what I was told so cant expect great things but for the coin, with side view, I reckon they are alright.
Just a tad hard to get ones head around after being used to touch screens and relative ease of use of the pre Ti elites.

Thanks for reminding me.
Wondered about that also, especially as I intend to fit it to a kayak.
Any idea of power usage Bream Machine?

I have had mine since March, they are user friendly the chirp side and down imaging is great, I do agree about the connections at the back. It has waypoints and tracking which accurate. I thought I got a bargain at Mandurah marine for $719, I see he is now selling them for $579, you can't lose.

cheers, agree on the value for money aspect, can't get sidescan from any other sounder on a 7" screen for anywhere near that.

I added one to my kayak a while ago as a second sounder, haven't used it enough yet though. Did manage to see some squid on it last weekend using the downscan. Last time i was was in and above trees in a lake it made a huge difference to what i was seeing on the older sounder, if i get out this weekend with it I'll take some pics.
As others have said there is no mapping at all, but it does have a gps and you can see where you have been and add wave points. I think its great from the bit of use so far and if you don't care about mapping then its a good choice for the price. My phone allows maps without needing reception so if needed i could use that but in a kayak im never that far away.
