I got Corel Video Studio Pro X4 few weeks ago, nice to use, i've been mucking around with it when I should be fishing, it does some useful stuff that will come in handy. The best thing is it recognises all vid/audio formats that I use...had plenty of hassles with more expensive programs that dont.
Just done 1 vid with it so far...and that was just mucking about with the program and some rejected fishin footage...it turned out semi-watchable, even with the carp

you could try searching a torrent site to get a 'copy' for 'educational' purposes.

Sony vegas
Once you understand the software it's really easy and powerful!
Pretty much, drag and drop, slice the film, add some effects and overlap it to get the fading effect... etc

Very user friendly software

I'm using Creative PowerDirector at the moment, not too bad, fairly easy to use.

G'day,

I'm with Craig, I have most of the Software mentioned but PowerDirector seems the easiest to use.

See this URL for test comparisons of Software.
