long shaft, short shaft
hey i was wondering wat hapens if i put a long shft on mi short shaft would i loose any speed or would i just go faster

You'd go slower because the prop would run too deep (extra drag).

I ran a long shaft on my SS boat and found it fine, lost a bit of speed but if you lift it on the transom a but you'll be alright and shouldn't cavitate even when you turn it in its own length.
