But when I found this Japanese Fisherman - it really helped give my tank decorating some direction

Once I had my direction the innovations flowed.

I needed a cover for my light - no drama - just cut up some pvc and colour it in

but when your mind cogs start revolving - its hard to make them stop.

You start thinking of solutions to problems that dont really exist.

The most recent was the extensions to my landing net.

I used to use diy split pins - then I went to nuts and bolts....

But I'm a "LBTCR&G"................ - ................ "Land Based, Tide Chasing, Runner and Gunner" from way back.

When you chase the tide - you may fish 10 different spots in a few hours. And not all those spots require the same length handle on the landing net.......

some spots only need 3 well placed casts to see if the fish are on the job - and if that spot is 4 meters off the water - its a pain in the arse screwing all the sections of your landing net together. So you skip it.

Not any more.

With my patented new system - I'll be able to hit those sweet spots in the tide phase - at alot more spots.

Click Click Click - and I'm fishing - and more importantly - I wont be late for the next spot

Sounder sun visor

Had some leftover 3mm perspex from cubby house project so put it to good use:

step1 copy someone elses design from internet and sketch up

lowr1.jpg

step2 print out template to scale and trace on to perspex, cut out with jig saw

lowr3.jpg

step3 use heat gun to bend, then sand & paint

lowr3a.jpg

lowr4.jpg

Tip: heat the OUTSIDE of the bends for about 30 secs. I placed 2 bits of steel flat bar either side of the bend line to create a 5mm or so gap to localise the heat and make sharper bends.

Days after I put the finishing touches on my pole extensions - I find 4.5m of aluminium painters pole - I should never have doubted my abilities as a junk-man

It's always the way.....If you can't find another use for that pole that doesn't involve painting then you should hand back your innovators ticket!
