Hi Bear
I know it is alot of trouble to organise but a regular social fishing gathering would be a good idea.
It would increase the profile of breaming in Western Australia and also build the tournament fishing competition.
If you are trying to increase the numbers in the competitions (and the prize money ) some more exposure into the tournament setup would be great. Eg. Tackle and techniques.

That is something we are tying to do Des, but our biggest problem is participation. It would be great if we could get better numbers to help out new anglers. We are also hoping to do more days like the rod day I'm organising. Will keep it in mind for sure.

Extending the personal profile information.

To include maybe fighting tackle, boat, sponsers, and such. So when I am curious what type of gear the person who just won a comp or a breamming guru then I can just look at their profile. Be good for the newer people to the site and breamming.

Great idea. I have now added these headings to user profiles. I'll post up in the Tavern to let people know.

Bear i was thinking maybe just keeping the opening page a bit more up to date with a write up of things that are maybe going on with BM.
Maybe a countdown for amount of days to go until the next comp and maybe recent photos cycling through from recent comp.
Just ideas.

simmsy.

Will do on keeping up to date for sure. We try and stay away from animated gif files as much as we can due to loading time etc, but I can put up links to the pics we put up in the forums.

Having to disclose your real name somewhere in your profile would be good.

I'd thought about that Doc, but people could still put in something false any way.

I got a sudden ... How about expanding the variety of emoticons available? May cut down on the following ... ... and may bring on more and maybe even provide some of these signs as they speak for itself without having to go into further details ...

Anyway, just an idea ...

Cheers

Maybe,

If location was included under User information, where it says, Registered, Number of Posts, and Posts Per Day.

Users 'Location' has now been added to 'User Information' available next to each Users post.

HTH and thanks for the idea.

Yup,

It's good Bear. Saves going to profiles if you ever needed to check where a certain member is, for like organising socials/meet-ups, or for buy/sell posts, etc.

You could also do something similar for biggest bream caught to date, but then I don't feel that's absolute necessary.

Your call.

Hey Bear,

I really like to have a quick look at the web site throughout the day and usually go through the 10 threads on the home page listed as "Latest Posts". But I have noticed that some interesting posts sometimes get bumped off into the archives before they've had much exposure in the "Latest Posts" window.

Would it be possible to expand the "Latest Posts" window to show 20 threads instead of just 10??

I think this will give any web site surfers a much better indication of what the site is all about and maybe attract more members.

I also think BM's existing membership would really appreciate it if they could see a larger list of recent topics covered without having to comb through the rest of the site .... I hate missing interesting things that just get bumped off before I've logged on

Just an idea

Cheers

Karl
