I fished that spot mid 2017, plenty of rat barra being pulled on the other side in the wash.

Not one comment back then about any PC bass from any local i spoke to or the shops i visited - some word about Tilapia but that was it.

So i think something has changed in the last 6 to 8 months.

Although it may be very insensitive to say - if you are going to have an invasive species take over your water ways - it may aswell be a magnificent looking beast that grows up to a meter long, weighs 13kg and is rated as very good eating

Vics water temps mean our greatest invasive sports fish is the carp

I spose this is what happens when you let invasive species be kept as pets

Unfortunately tilapia are way ahead on our invasive pest list. However did see a pic of an Oscar caught the other day in a gold coast lake and plenty of cichlids out of Somerset dam.

That was a mate of mine that caught the Oscar,Just off Cheltenhem drive near the cricket field.

Back in the system now ,he dropped it after taking the lure out and it landed back on the waters edge and took off .

Going to be interesting to see if another Peacock gets caught up there in the future.

Hey, if Peacock bass eat carp, maybe we can just switch them out?

Yeah I'll start knitting them some jumpers so they can survive our winters

According to Wikipedia - In Florida they just said - stuff it - our waters are full of aquarium released pests - lets just get a bigger aquarium pest to eat them all.
