10 Certate ---> Stella, Worth it?

Looking at upgrading from a 10' Certate to a Stella, do you guys reckon it's worth upgrading or should I stick to the certate?

I'm using both currently and although the certate is a great reel it doesn't have the same feel as the stella. The stella really is a class above, I'd say do it.

...here's the way I see it, either Shimano's flagship reel/top of the tree/none better, or daiwa's (great value) mid-high level reel. Stella will shine every time, unless you're a daiwa diehard. Or not looking for something in the Stella pricepoint. Apples and oranges.

I'm with dylman here. When buying shimano, it's stella or nothing. That said, I think the stella shats all over daiwa's high end reels. Stella wins hands down.

I'm currently using a JDM 10 Stella 2000, and a Certate 2000. I really enjoy using both reels.

The Stella is a little bit smoother, has a bit more cranking power, is lighter, and just feels a little nicer in general. My 2 complaints are the handle play, and stupid holes in various parts of the body.

The handle play is not as bad as lower end shimanos, but still enough to take away from the overall experience of the reel.

The 'holes' I'm talking about are the maintenance hole on the line roller assembly ( dumbest design ever ), and the 2 holes at the bottom of the reel. Water ingress is very easy, and owners need to pay a lot of attention.

The Certate on the other hand is a very solid reel, that does everything right, and is good value for money. $390 at Digitaka at the moment. My only complaint with the Certate is the Drag. It's not water proof, becomes water logged easily after a very light spray, and needs constant maintenance. It becomes sticky very easily, and this is a pain in the ass, considering it's one of Daiwas flagship reels.
