I just got the 2011/12 catalogue for Daiwa (available with Fishing World Mag this month - like Shimano last issue lol). They come in 2000, 2500, 3000 and 4000 according to that catalogue (Australian Version). They do however look to be able to have RCS spools fitted (Real Custom System) if you wanted to go a finesse spool (costly but may be worth it for particular styles).

What are peoples thoughts on the Mag Seal? Seems more legit than the Oil Seal but still a bit skeptical as to how effective it may be.

Geez you guys really dont care about backing your local tackle shops and importers. They pay for alot of the comps that are run, there wont be as many if this OS buying contiues at this pace. You guys wont learn until it bites us all in the ass.

I think they are trying to bring the caldia up a step. The paint job does look a bit cheap in the video, The ballistic has a much better paint job. Not that I agree with Daiwa freak or is it Shimano freak?

Any reel with real 4 will accept a RCS spool and knob.

Mag seal will make them a bit smoother than the last ones. Im not a massive fan but Im sure I will end up with one or two anyway.

They are deffinately stepping the quality up a bit, big difference between these new reels and the older stuff like SOL, Advantage and Caldia and very well priced

Maybe $300.00 or a bit less but thats a guess, could be more

Yes mate, I know why you guys do it. Its much better to save $100.00 on a reel sometimes but that $100.00 is a investment into the future of bream tournaments in Australia. Have a look at ABT, they have cut back heaps of tournaments, and WA has paied big time, I think they have 1 ABT comp now. It does my head in watching it all self distruct, all because of the high dollar.

No more to say

Cheers
Chris

Your right mate! But when you are only 14 you want things as cheap as you can get it!
