Parents can tend to be that way.. They see the dollar each, rather than the value as represented by fish catching ability.. I know what it's like, I am a parent myself.

If you're ever up on the Sunshine Coast let me know, more than happy to take you to a few likely spots for a throw.

Hi again Mr Sharkbait,

PM your address to me and I'll send you a couple of jigheads, a bit of flurocarbon leader, a Jackall Chubby Deep and an Atomic Shad40. That should get you started..

Tie one of the lures from Stompy or myself on, and just cast out and wind dead slowly, that will probably be how you'll pick up your first couple of fish. You can try more advanced techniques later..

Try around sunset or sunrise on the flats there, looks like a good area from the satellite pics - around the swimming pools there look good

I got a fair bit of help starting out with lures, so why not help out the next generation? The more people we convert to lure fishing the less giant balls of mono line with big sinkers and rusty Kmart hooks we get snagged up on and haul in on lures!!

Pay it forward Down the track when someone else needs a hand getting into the sport and you're a seasoned angler you'll be able to settle the 'debt'.
