only if it's close at hand CK. reckon I'll opt for the chopping board idea and I'll have a crack this weekend.

thanks for the info guys, I'm sure I'll be back in touch when the wiring or something stumps me!!

Not sure how good the 1st pic is but perhaps if you save it & zoom in it'll help.
One on both sides to accommodate both the Tx & the speed / temp sensor. The later is not attached.

Second pic is probably better & shows what I used. Again I had one on each side. Also, despite what you may be told, I neer had an issue with Tx location on one or the other side of the vessel on both of these boats.

Trails function

Have had a quick search but didnt find anything definitive so thought i might ask here.

How do I turn on the automatic trails feature so I can see where I have been throughout the day? I used to have it set on my old Humminbird and found it handy to see where my drifts went and also helped me get home with more confidence in the dark.

I have a G2 HDS 9 which I couldn't find the correct screen to turn the feature on. I don't need to keep the trail permanently, if it deleted itself after a set distance/time that would be fine.

I know it will be staring me in the face but couldn't find it in the manual or by looking around.

Thanks,

Sam.

Sam.
Hit pages and on the left side select "waypoints routes and trails". Now select trails from the top and it will bring up a screen to let you select trails. Make sure its set to record and display.

No Temp reading on HDS7

Hey guys, when I'm on structure scan/down scan on my HDS-7 gen 2 the temperature isn't showing on the screen anymore, but it is still showing if I'm just on the normal 'sonar' screen.
I normally just use the downscan and sidescan screens so every time I want to check the temperature I have to change over to the sonar screen.
Is this normal? Any reason why the temp would be missing from my downscan screen? And how do I fix it?
Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

Is the temp display still there with dashes instead of numbers or is it missing all together?

If it is missing altogether you just need to be on the page that you want the temp gauge on, go to edit overlay, hit add and then add the temp.

It's not missing altogether, it is showing two blank lines/dashes where the temp should be.

Ahh OK, in that case you need to tell it where to look for the temp, again go into edit overlay and instead of add, hit edit. From here one of the options is change. In here it will give you a full list of options which will then give you drop downs of more options, you need to select the source of the temp.. ie structure scan transducer.

Did you update the software?

As I had the same issue when updating, haven't worried about it to much yet so eager to know how you go with this.
