I’m in the same boat with the xflc. I am just gonna buy one and try it, sell it if I don’t like it.

The description of the rod you want sounds very similar to the first rod I got from Ian. It was niece but I just wanted something a little heavier in the hand.

I ended up buying the twitch freak from Warren at the start of this year and have got some decent use out. If you've ever held a megabass deep throat then the twitch freak comes in as an ever so slightly stiffer rod with a noticeable amount of power in the middle of the rod.
I've found it to be perfect for twitching jerkbaits, where it loads up nicely in the tip section with a little jerk of the rod and pulls the lure through the water with ease. I've chucked squirrel 61s, double clutch 60s and osp dunks on it mainly.
It handles crankbaits nicely, though most of my crankbaiting is around flats and weed so I prefer the lighter megabass deep throat for that application. However, if i'm going out on the kayak targeting anything bigger than bream or working around structure I would choose the twitchfreak in a heartbeat. Topwaters, no dramas what so ever. It can be a bit of an all-rounder if you so choose
