Best rod builder in Sydney?
Hey guys. I've got a tonne of rods I need built up, bought all the components for them expecting to do it all.. I can do the grips fine but I tried doing the wraps and epoxy and I'm hopeless, it's all bumpy and full of bubbles. The components for these cost me ~$700- 1000 per rod so I'm looking for megabass/ripple fisher/evergreen quality... anyone got any ideas? Any builders on here willing to wrap Rods only?

Give Tan from equipped tackle in canley vale a call.
He does rod repairs aswell as builds his own rods. Not sure if he does custom jobs tho.

I would have another go using the instructions from www.rodbuilding.org/library/betterepoxy.pdf.
I just brush on a massive amount of finish and let any excess drip off without rotating the rod then half turns till it sets up. Don't play with it using the brush and if your totally useless like me use painters tape to get straight edges. |
