I was thinking the other day why a builder hadn't come up with a cat design for a fishing platform boat, makes sense really very stable to fish off, very stable at high speeds and in rough conditions, I want one

Sure would have to feel strange tiller steering a 250hp V8... I love the hull design though, can you imagine how stable that would be? :O It would be perfect with a little side console.

Yep Paul has beat me to it. The Laniers are my favourites, one day I will own one, oh yes I will own one.
This is the picture I have as my screen saver. The boat is doing 118mph in this shot and yes that is mph not km/h.

This is another one that has some impressive performance figures.
http://www.simmonscustomboats.net/
This is another that comes up every now and then. There was one of these for sale recently with a 300hp Suzuki on it.
http://au.boats.com/boat-details/Pro...aykat/20561951
Then there is this one. They are very well set up and I think would make a great boat to do a bit of everything.

There is a few others but most are not made anymore, you can still pick up some of the lesser known ones second hand every now and then.
This Cobra Boats 2100 Sidewinder was one of the best but the company went bust.

The boat with the twin 300's belonged to the guy in the photo I posted up. The twin rig got to about 122mph but needed some more setup time. They felt that 130mph was achievable. His new boat with the single 300 has broken the 120mph mark so the twins just aren't worth it. The extra weight and drag pretty much negates the extra power. Still looks cool though.

they are very nice but really why would anyone need to get up to speeds of 100+mph?

do these people have a death wish?
