Fish ID - No Photo

How the hell can you identify a fish without a photo Well I'll try my best to describe my catch. It was dusk and I had no source of light though what I could see was a light red body shaped like a jack. The thing that got me though was it had a more pointed nose than a jack or snapper and I think I could make out blue speckles like those of a juvenile snapper. My first thought was a jack though the last two things made me think it might be a small (spawning?) sprangled emperor or something aling those lines. I was fishing from the shore at the mouth of a small creek, there was a school as I was getting heaps of hits. Hope that made sense

Yeah mate though I was just wasn't sure if those sort of fish would be up so far in an estuary unless they were pushed in by the big seas and rain. I'm beginning to think it may have been a small jack as it is a fairly good jack spot. I guess i'll never know
