I doubt that any boater would ask first for fuel money. Wouldn't you offer some as a token of appreciation?

It would still be much less than the cost of a guide/charter.

Lets not get some confusion here. That was a statement from someone else
When asked to go fishing with someone I usually pay the proportion of the fuel. I'm surprised people aren't bothered with wanting money. Although its not bream the last time fishing the fuel was 90 litres to the FADs etc in a day. Fuel is always something I pay whether they like it or not because you do want to do it again. Sometimes its buy or make food, bait and gear prior as well.

Depending on the bite (edges, deep, docks/marinas) and on the boater you get, if you're fishing from the back of the boat, a lot of boaters will block you out by nudging the boat in close to the edges giving you no where to cast towards the banks, leaving you with only one option of fishing the deeper water.

Thats rather sporting of them. Who are they kidding. This is not fun anymore...

Maybe not always on purpose, but it's definitely happened in the past...
