Noosa doesn't really hold big jewies, but plenty of soapies, if you have a boat jig the deeper holes early morning with 3 or 4inch powerbait minnows on 1/8 jigheads, you should get the odd jewie from 40cm - 70cm. If your landbased your best off using live herring in the deeper holes. Just from what i've heard.

Im no Jewie fisherman but I ve been doing a bit of research and found that if fishing for em with lures during daylight hours its best to fish 2 hours either side of the high tide with plenty of current.

Try and find places where eddies are formed eg. bridges, rock walls, reefs etc. They are lethargic during the day and they will sit in the eddy waiting for bait/food to drift past. so its best to throw your lure up current and work it back to the eddy where it should land in front of them.

Apparently jerk shads are a preferred plastic when they a timid as it looks like a wounded bait fish and an easy meal.

I havent put it into practice yet but hopefully the info pays off.

+1 to that
Here in Brisbane I find it that the jewies come out on the runout tide rather then the in tide..
I use lures mostly for the jew but if using bait I use live prawns

I've caught them on both but most on a run out,If you look higher in the river system you will find on the run in the bait fish get a head start, jewies are smart predators they ball the bait and slam it...Find the bait you should pin a Mully
