Travel rods
Does anyone know if the g. Loomis escape series of travel rods is discontinued? I had one years ago that was fantastic and have regretted selling it ever since. I had the lightest one in the series which was a 3 piece in cherry red called an ETR75-3 ULS 4. what would people recommend as an alternative? This came in a hard case about 60cm long and was great for even the lightest lures. Would be great if anyone had a suggestion for an alternative that I could just keep in the car for unplanned fishing sessions. Budget up to ~$300.

They certainly still make and sell them overseas but in Australia that is going to be a bit of an ask. Had a 3 piece 20LB and 17lb versions and they were great. Moved them both on after years of service only recently. Good luck with the search.

Lox and Nitro do decent 5 piece travel rods.
I've got the Lox Yoshi which is a 5kg 7'6 rod and my Brother has the Nitro equivalent. Its abit heavy for bream but great for general purpose light to medium lure fishing. |

Most of the daiwa and shimano travel rods are decent, and there are a few models to match your budget.
Have a look through their websites, but they're all good little rods. The nicer daiwa one is the black label travel, or some of their true travel ones if you're after UL. |
