Mate, for breaming, you really want 6lb or under. Above is probably to much.

Hey yeah, 10lb is usually too heavy but for the times you absolutely have to wrench the huge fish out of the nastiest structure and they are giant bream then it would be good I'm sure man. I never come across any giant bream I just normally use the 6lb black magic for that and it's good mate. Pretty thick and strong. I also use the 8lb and 12lb black magic fluorocarbon leader for flathead and bigger fish and it hasn't let me down so far. I normally use the yamatoyo stuff but that's more expensive again.

I caught a 67 cm kingfish using the 10lb leader. If I was to go 6 lb would this have snapped the line? I set my drag low using 10lb and took me a while to reel it in. We get a lot of them where I fish as well and took a "bream" lure. So just worried about losing lures. Help?

more often the not i run 4lb black magic or diawa tournament fluro, and have run lighter when its super clear. when i have fished oyster racks its the 8 or 10lb fluro but purely for the pulling power more then anything. my braid is 4lb powerpro on one and 6lb diawa td sensor on the other reel. as for the kingie question, back it off and let that baby scream. kingies dont have teeth so you wont have to worry about the line being worn anymore then you do with bream.

Hey,

Do you want to catch more Bream? I'd drop down the 6lb, or even 4lb and take the risk of being bitten off by a toothy critter (which will probably chew through 10lb anyway), and if you hook a rat king you'd still have a chance on 6lb.

Black magic isn't a bad leader material, easy to come by and relatively cheap. The berkley vanish stuff is pretty good but a bit more pricey, and the best that I've found so far is FC Rock.

PS, if you get to work in a tackle store, Black magic is great...they put lollies in the box with your order
