What brand and model pliers do you use?

I use my $2 ebay pliers as a back up - I use them to remove hooks, so they are always on my hip - they cut 6lb braid but not quite as clean as scissors - and after a short while they only cut when the braid is tensioned.

Yeah I've got a very similar pair to those - do you find they cut limp 6lb braid as cleanly as scissors

I dont have 6lb braid but i cut .5 to .8 PE braid no worries. Cos it chops/squashes the braid rather than shearing it, its not as clean but multi strand braid fluffs up so quick anyway.

Thanks - that would accurately describe my experiences with cutting braid with pliers aswell - I find its a bit more important to have the braid running at 90 degrees to the cutter to avoid crushing instead of cutting

Here’s another contender I picked up recently for day to day cutting

Gerber neat freak

Very handy on braid.

Yeah they are ticking a few boxes - compact - scrotum friendly blunt ends etc - it will be interesting to see how they pan out - How much are they?

Yeah I've got a Gerber multi-tool - the wire cutters suck - but the blade is still sharp enough to man-scape with

Id be interested to hear what made you choose them over the blue berkleys at half the price - Coz if it was the stubby opener - I can fully understand having multi use items in your EDC

Scrotums are overated. Only end up reducing time on the water.

With 4 kids between 2 and 15, I can attest to this!
