you could make up something similar using single strand stainless wire, trace round the body of the crab onto a piece of timber mark where you want the eyelets to be, bang in three nails at the marks, now you've got a jig and can make all the frames the same.

I like where you're heading alot - I was just using crimps and 30lb mono I had lying around.

I dont have much experience with single strand but that may change soon - thanks

What breaking strand single strand would you suggest

150lb will work for what your doing you could go lighter but youll be having to restraighten wire after a decent fish.

Found a spot with a rather unique set of problems for the bait runner operator - My usual methods of securing the rod werent going to work

thats all very good but the reel you have there is a baitrunner, this means the fish will run with the bait under minimal resistance then when you pick up the rod you flick it into gear henceforth the rod doesn't have any chance of being pulled into the water unless you stuff up the procedure...just sayin
cheers nereus

Havent seen when a fish takes a baitrunner so hard loose line peels off and loops around the rotor and instantly anchors on sending the rod flying.

Ive got leashes but made from surfboard leg ropes and bungy cord to lash around rocks etc.
