I am interested to know, too. My experience with Daiwa's spinners so far has been a downer but since I handled the BG a few times in store (2500, 3000 and 6000), I really want to give it a go - felt sturdy and 'connected', drag seems to be good, too. A tad heavy but surprisingly solid reel for the price.

285 is around 85% of 335) The Freams feels like a rickety kids toy next to the BG. (completely unfair assessment as I've had the freams for a couple of years (of light use) and everything has had a chance to loosen up) But I'll be willing to put up with the extra weight if the BG lives up to its reputation (its easy to have a reputation as a bullet proof reel if its only been out for a year) Early impression are good though 1st pic Freams 3000 2nd is the BG 3000 Last edited by yellow door 1; 06-04-2017 at 05:59 PM. |

I purchased a 4500 BG just after they where released and have used it for throwing slugs for Tailor on Fraser and used it off shore at 1770, and its performed fantastically, so I'm very happy with it especially for the price.

alan hawk has done a good reviwe of the reel, and for most part its identical inside to the saltist, bar magseal and a few bearings.
i have the 4000 and it feels nice and drag is very smooth when pulling by hand, havent hooked anything on it yet. handle is riveted on and is suprisingly comfortable. ball bearing supported drag stack and carbon drag washers with UTD. its a realy good bang for budget reel |

Thats sound like a pretty rugged testing arena for a reel - any small signs or wear and tear? |

I pushed my light weight reels beyond their limits last season - so hopefully this 3000 BG will let my 2500's stradics have a rest |
